Intro

Greetings World.....

My name is Randall and I am a graduating senior at the University of Southern California where I am majoring in Business Administration with an emphaisis in Management and Operations.

I have a myriad of interests but the one that stands out for me in terms of how much time I dedicate to it would have to be music.I especially like soul, hip-hop, jazz blues, and guitar. I think my infatuation with music comes from the fact that I generally always have a song in my head regardless of whats going on. I took a guitar class last year which I did okay in but I really want to pick it up on much more serious level. Overall I believe my life runs to a beat and though the melody or tempo may change there is always generally a song that can play as the background to whatever is going on with me.

Some of my favorite music sites include: allhiphop.com, mtv.com/news, therapup.blogspot.com, and a host of others.

I've started this blog for my class to delve into the relationship between music and technology to see whether it is a productive or detrimental one. I believe that this a very pertinent issue because there are many purist who feel that technology has taken music away for its naturalistic roots. Be it the change in formats of listening to music (record to 8 track to tape to CD to mp3) or the lack of instrumentation in alot of todays most popular music. I will try be unbiased and post info advocating for both sides of the issue. I will return soon with my first real entry but take a look at the Zune vs. Ipod debate in the meanwhile.....
